Birdsong (Lyrics)

Enough tales about the bird

That wakes up early to catch the worm

So here goes one that flies in the middle of the night

Until sun shines

She soars high

And the morning birds they cue in the sunshine

And with them comes a brand new piece of mind

But I promise I don’t mind

Going to bed at sunrise

The crickets chirp all night

And the moonlight shines almost as bright

All alone in the night

With nobody’s watchful eye

To hold me down –to sink and drown

In the daylight’s bath of light

It burns too bright

Hear my cries

And the morning birds they cue in the sunshine

And with them comes a new daydream each time

But I promise I don’t mind

Going to bed at sunrise

The crickets chirp all night

And the moonlight shines almost as bright

I can sing and paint the town

No gray overcast from a single cloud

Just the endless navy in the sky –and the twinkling lights

Sure know how to light up the night

And the morning birds they cue in the sunshine

And with them I can finally close my eyes

Sunshine

Sunshine it’s your time to set

Sunshine you can finally rest your

Sunshine it’s your time to set

Sunshine you can finally rest your

Sleepy head

But I promise I don’t mind

Going to bed at sunrise

The crickets chirp all night

And the moonlight shines almost as bright (x2)
